Dear Comrades,
Normal industry practice is that often it is the unions that knock the doors of R.L.C.(C), seeking relaxations over the conditions in Standing Orders. But unfortunately in our case, it is mostly the Management that often seeks help of R.L.C. to make the Standing Orders more and more stringent. The result is, over the years, our S.O.s became more and more harsher and today, as you can see, we have a very stringent Standing Orders enforced on us. This would be evident if you can compare our C.S.O.s with model standing orders ( laid down by the Act of Law) or with neighboring industries' C.S.O.s. In this context, our management has once again proposed to introduce some more clauses in to the S.O.s and sought the intervention of R.L.C.(C). As per the procedure laid down, our union is seeking relaxations over some harsh clauses. The Quasi-judicial proceedings on this subject are to take place on 1st April at Hyderabad. We shall keep you posted over any developments in this regard.
